The Ukrainian National Office for Intellectual Property and Innovations presented a large-scale project – the National Initiative “Ukraine Inspires the World,” created to promote the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights among Ukrainian entrepreneurs.
The project premiered at the IV National Forum on Intellectual Property and Innovation “Intellectual Property: Law, Economy, Technology” (IP LET Forum 2025).
The project demonstrates the strength of Ukrainian brands, which, despite the russian federation full-scale war of aggression against Ukraine, continue to work, develop, keep their teams, and preserve intellectual property.
“Today, I am honored to present an initiative that was born out of our confidence that Ukrainian resilience, creativity, and innovation can inspire the world. It is this conviction that gave the project its name – “Ukraine Inspires the World,” said Director of UANIPIO Olena Orliuk during the project presentation.
You can watch the presentation video for the project “Ukraine Inspires the World” on the UANIPIO YouTube channel:
One of the main messages of the initiative is that a product created in Ukraine must be registered in Ukraine, as this is what allows its origin to be preserved, its rights to be protected, and the brand’s position to be strengthened in both national and international markets.
In addition, businesses that use effective mechanisms to protect their intellectual property and IP rights show significantly better results in Ukraine and beyond.
According to the Director of the IP Office, 10 brands have joined the project so far, which, despite the russian federation full-scale war of aggression against Ukraine, have survived and continue to actively develop. The project focuses on businesses operating in close proximity to military operations, those relocated from temporarily occupied territories, and those that have survived the occupation and returned home.
“Our team shot video stories about these businesses: how they went through occupation, evacuation, and losses, how they endure daily shelling – and yet continue to create, take risks, invest, and bring their products to global markets. And how intellectual property tools help them do this,” emphasized Olena Orliuk.
Starting next week, these stories will be posted on the UANIPIO YouTube channel in turn. Each of them is a concentration of experience: life, social, and entrepreneurial.
As Olena Orliuk emphasized, it is very valuable to hear how businesses that create products that are valued and recognized not only in Ukraine but also globally take a responsible approach to protecting their intellectual property. They realize that this is a strategic advantage.
“National registration is an act of patriotism. It is a contribution to our Victory. It is a way of telling the world: I am from Ukraine, and I am proud of it. And we, as a country, are proud of our entrepreneurs,” said the Director of UANIPIO.
“While preparing this project, the entire team was truly inspired by the resilience of Ukrainian businesses, as well as by the fact that, despite the daily challenges, each participant conveyed the same message to us in different words: intellectual property is important in the strategic and operational activities of a business. This speaks to the high culture of intellectual property among Ukrainian entrepreneurs, and for us, these were very valuable insights,” said project coordinator Tetiana Kharchova.
