The International IP Enforcement Summit 2025, held in Athens, Greece, became the leading international platform for discussing current challenges and strategies in the field of intellectual property enforcement.

The participation of the Ukrainian delegation in the Summit was a significant opportunity to strengthen cooperation with WIPO, national IP offices, exchange practices and develop recommendations that will be taken into account in the further work of the Ukrainian National Office for Intellectual Property and Innovations (UANIPIO, or Ukrainian IP Office).

    The Ukrainian delegation consisted of:

    • IP enforcement beyond trademarks.

Deputy Minister of Development of Greece Lazaros Tsavdaridis, Director General of WIPO Daren Tang, Executive Director of EUIPO João Negrão, Chairman of the Committee on Legal Affairs of the European Parliament Ilhan Küçük, Director-General of European Commission’s DG GROW Kerstin Jorna and others spoke at the event.

    International IP cooperation

The event paid special attention to international cooperation, strengthening the institutional capacity of participating countries, the role of customs, digital tools (in particular, blockchain) in detecting violations, and ways to protect authors and copyright holders in the digital environment.

The Ukrainian delegation emphasised Ukraine’s consistent compliance with international obligations in the field of intellectual property, the importance of developing institutional capacity, implementing national projects jointly with WIPO, in particular the development of the Technology and Innovation Support Centres’ (TISC) network, the creation of the National Intellectual Property Training Center (IP Academy) and the Center for Mediation and Intermediation based on the IP Office, etc.

UANIPIO will continue to direct its efforts to develop the intellectual property sector in Ukraine, strengthening its international authority and effectively protecting the rights of Ukrainian copyright holders at the global level.

UANIPIO sincerely appreciate the support of the EU4IP – “Strengthening intellectual property rights in Moldova and Ukraine” project, funded by the European Union, for facilitating the participation of the Ukrainian delegation in this important event.
