How can Ukraine integrate more effectively into the global market via intellectual property tools? How can American institutions contribute to this? And what will be the main areas of cooperation between the Ukrainian National Office for Intellectual Property and Innovations (UANIPIO/IP Office) and the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in 2025?
These and other issues were discussed by the representatives of UANIPIO, the US Embassy in Ukraine and the USPTO on December 18, 2024 during an online meeting.

The participants of the meeting shared their views and laid the foundation for 2025 for the effective patent worksharing between UANIPIO and the USPTO within the framework of the Paris Convention and the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).
The results of this meeting will be an important step towards strengthening the innovation potential and protection of innovations in Ukraine and the United States, optimizing the processing time of patent applications, and supporting projects in priority areas of innovation. Bogdan Paduchak emphasized this, noting:
“Cooperation with the USPTO confirms our commitment to provide quality support to applicants, improve patenting procedures and integrate Ukrainian innovations into the global intellectual property space, ensuring proper IP rights protection of foreign applicants in the national jurisdiction.”
