Intellectual property is an essential component of Ukraine’s European integration process. To jointly track progress in this area and maintain public awareness and transparency about key events, the Ukrainian National Office for Intellectual Property and Innovations (UANIPIO, or the Ukrainian IP Office) offers a regularly updated service, European Integration Digest: Intellectual Property.

The first semester of 2025 was marked by intensive work on adapting Ukrainian legislation in the field of intellectual property to the European Union acquis – the body of EU legislative acts and standards. UANIPIO representatives held a number of events with the participation of the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine and other stakeholders, as well as participated in international events dedicated to the development of the IP sphere, law enforcement, and strengthening international partnerships.
Particular attention was paid to the issues of:
UANIPIO continues to work on deepening its partnership with key international authorities and organisations: the European Commission and the EU Delegation to Ukraine, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the European Patent Office (EPO), and also develops institutional cooperation with national IP offices of EU Member States.
This emphasises Ukraine’s consistency in fulfilling its European integration obligations and its desire to integrate the Ukrainian IP sphere into the European space.
The updated service enables its users to track key events in Ukraine’s intellectual property field as it approaches accession with the European Union, stay informed about legislative changes, and learn about UANIPIO’s initiatives and cooperation within the European integration context.
