From 10 to 12 September 2025, two international events dedicated to combating IP crime were held at the EUIPO headquarters in Alicante, Spain.
Both events brought together prosecutors, investigators, and experts from the European Union, Ukraine, Moldova, and the Western Balkans, serving as a platform for sharing best practices and strengthening judicial cooperation in the fight against IP crime and organized criminal networks.

The participation of the Ukrainian delegation was made possible with the support of the EU-funded international technical assistance project EU4IP: “Strengthening IP rights in Moldova and Ukraine”.
On 10 September, a seminar under this title took place, bringing together many specialists, including prosecutors and investigators from the Western Balkans, Moldova, and Ukraine.
The seminar discussed the harmonization of EU legislation on IP rights, cross-border cooperation, and support mechanisms presented by experts from Europol, OLAF, Eurojust, and other representatives.
The concluding session included the discussion of practical case studies such as online sales of counterfeit goods, counterfeit pesticides and pharmaceuticals, and digital piracy, which enabled Ukrainian participants to exchange experiences with their counterparts.
On 11-12 September, the 12th Annual EIPPN workshop was held in cooperation with Eurojust, with the participation of around 50 prosecutors from EU Member States and neighbouring countries.
It should be emphasized that EIPPN meetings are supported by the European Multidisciplinary Platform Against Criminal Threats (EMPACT), which identifies and addresses key threats posed by international organized crime.
This year`s EIPPN workshop paid special attention to:
National case studies from Ireland, Spain, and Sweden provided a practical overview of investigative strategies and approaches to prosecution in IP-related criminal cases.
The participation of the Ukrainian delegation helped to strengthen cross-border cooperation with the EU and neighbouring countries, contributing to the improvement of the national system for investigating IP crimes, harmonization of enforcement standards, and enhancing the effectiveness of combating organized criminal groups.
