Habip Asan, Director, TDC, WIPO joined the event held in Kyiv, online from the WIPO Headquarters in Geneva. He emphasized the relevance and importance of issues covered by the IP LET FORUM “INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY: LAW, ECONOMY, TECHNOLOGY” for the further economic growth of Ukraine, noting:

“The theme of this Forum highlights the deep connections between law, economy, and technology – three essential pillars for any nation’s growth and success.

    • Law provides the framework to protect ideas and innovations.
    • The economy drives the creation and dissemination of IP.
    • And technology serves as the platform that makes these ideas accessible to the world.

Together, these elements form the foundation for unlocking economic growth, fostering technological advancement, and promoting cultural exchange.

With its remarkable history of scientific achievements and artistic excellence, Ukraine has all the ingredients to build a thriving IP ecosystem. By strengthening IP rights, Ukraine can sharpen its competitive edge, attract foreign investments, encourage entrepreneurship, and safeguard the interests of its creators and innovators”.

The TDC Director emphasized the constant deepening of cooperation between our country and WIPO, as well as further support for Ukraine, noting:

“Ukraine’s IP and innovation ecosystem has shown incredible resilience despite the present challenges. At WIPO, we are proud to stand by Ukraine in its efforts to rebuild and advance its IP framework. Our collaboration has only deepened over the years. Last year, the Memorandum of Understanding signed between WIPO and the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine reflects a shared commitment to fostering a robust innovation ecosystem. One key outcome of this collaboration is the National IP Strategy for 2025-2030, which is being developed with the support of a dedicated task force”.
